WHAT DID YOU DO OVER SPRING BREAK?

I hope everyone had a wonderful break and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Before we start talking about our readings for the week I would like to take a minute for everyone to reconnect on a personal level. Please use this space to share what you did over spring break. Please share a photo or two if you have them. Post/comment right under this section of the blog.

  1. I went to Wyoming with 3 other friends to stay in my friend's cabin. We snowmobiled, played games, read, and had a LOT of giggles. It was so fun to get away from everything and forget about being a mom, wife, teacher, student for a week. I was only responsible for myself. I felt so reenergized for this week!! We even got out of our comfort zone and did some hill climbing with the sleds, went off trail and got ourselves stuck.....all very fun!! This was the third year we went out there. I'll post pics once I get back home and can upload from there.

  3. We didn't have spring break at school, so I worked. I coach high school softball and we started practice on Monday. My week was very busy, but enjoyable.

  5. We had Thursday and Friday off. Unfortunately my father-in-law passed away so our plans for a short get away were cancelled. This week we dealt with the funeral. It was not relaxing...

    1. Sorry to hear about your loss, Kelli. Grief is such a nonlinear thing; you can do very normal things a day after the loss and suddently feel the bite of it months later. Hope your husband and you find solid meaning in it.

  6. Kelli, I am so sorry to hear about your father-in-law and your lack of break :(...My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!!!

For Spring break I went to Orlando to visit my cousins with my mom and sister! They live in Orlando and are 23 and 21 and my sister and I are 24 and 25 so we are VERY close with them!!! It was a very nice, relaxing time and I got absolutely NO homework done besides reading The Well and Elijah of Buxton...I thought that was good enough! haha! I know the weather was amazing here too so I'm very glad everyone that couldn't get away got nice weather too!!!

    1. I think it is good to break from "homework" at times. Don't feel guilty. We all need to unplug at time. I am glad that you were able to get a way. I hope reading "The Well and Elijah of Buxton" didn't seem too much like homework.

  7. I'm the race director for the City of Trails 5K/10K in St. Croix Falls on June 2. We changed website platforms, so for Thursday and Friday (my only free days) I sat at my kitchen table and for two days of quiet, happy nerdy-ness, created a new website. Registration is open, all you runners!

  8. I was outside everyday due to the amazing weather! I also visited family, baked, relaxed, read, shopped and prep'd! All that good stuff! Loved it!!! Thanks for asking!

  9. Worked LOTS--had an unexpected surge of business due to the weather and some returning students. Other'n that, I worked on remodeling my kitchen.
Ended up more tired than when I started break.

Okay, that's my whining for the week. Things are good.

  10. It was a busy...but good week. My family and I attended my Grandmother's funeral on Monday and spent time with out-of-state visiting relatives that evening. I put in a few observation hours on Tuesday morning. My children had Thursday and Friday off for their break, so I had a chance to spend some time with them. My husband took half of the day on Friday off and we went to the Owatonna Discovery Reptile and Amphibian Zoo and Cabelas for the rest of the day. My oldest daughter was in St. Patty's Day parade in New Richmond, so my youngest daughter and I went with her.

  11. Break was MUCH needed and what a great time to be off! I enjoyed the weather with my dog and husband. We bought bikes for my husband's birthday and we were able to get out for a ride or two. It was strange to be back on a bike though, haven't done that in years! I'm glad to see that others were able to enjoy the weather as well. I love spring!

  12. Ok, after reading all the exciting things people did...wow, am I a dud! My break was so unmemorable I don't even know what I did. Basically, I just tried to recover from this class - kidding!
